This Page is still being developed.  I am planning on adding things like plans for the river hot tub and river tikis, and maybe some info on future river trips.  We will see what develops.  Click on any of the bookmarks below to be taken to that section.

Drinks
Hell's Canyon of the Snake
Main Salmon Trip

Drinks!

Kick ass nut flavored martini:

Take 3 equal portions of vanilla vodka, frangelica, and amaretto and mix them in equal amounts into a shaker filled with ice.  Cool it down and pour it into a martini glass and add a spicy walnut or a candied walnut.  Awesome drink of pure alcohol and so nice to sip.

Here is Sabrina's recipe for the "Official" Rio Margarita:

YOu only have to use 2 parts tequila because some think 3 parts is a
little too much.

3 Parts Cuervo Gold Tequila
2 Parts Duffy's Lime Juice (Duffy's is the Key)
1 Part Juarez Triple Sec
1 Part clear no pulp, Apple Juice
1/2 Part Karo Syrup
1/2 - 1 part Everclear (optional)

Here is a quick heads up to all that have written me regarding Duffy's Lime Juice:  You can buy it from Applejack Liquors in Denver, Colorado.  Their phone # is (303)233-3331.  They will ship it for their shipping cost plus a $15 handling fee.  It is sold 12 bottles to a case but I would guess you could buy less.  If you want to contact a distributor, you can call Intermountain Distributing at (970)984-2500.  They also have a web site.  They will sell it for $33.50/case plus $19-20 for shipping.  Hope this helps!

This is a recipe Sabrina brought back from the BVI.  I am not sure what it makes and it is a little sketchy on quantities but let me know what happens.

Fill glass with Ice
Fill glass at least 1/2 full with:
Cruzan citrus rum
or
Cruzan Estate Dark Rum
(Gold - Yes  151 - no)
or Mount Gay Eclipse

Then add:
Guava
Pineapple
Orange
(Bluebird)

Top with Meyer's Dark Rum

Then add an orange slice

Here is my Recipe for really fast tropical drinks:

Get a gallon jug (Clean preferred)
2 liters of dark rum
2 big cans of pineapple juice
2 can of Coco Casa

Shake it up in the jug and then pour warm on a glass full of ice.  MMMMMMM

This is a drink recipe we found on the side of our fridge in the BVI:

Kick Butt Pain Killers:

1 can Coco Lopez (save the can of Coco Lopez for measuring everything else)
1 can orange juice
2 cans dark rum
3 1/2 cans pineapple juice

Mix together in a 1 gallon jug and serve over ice with nutmeg on top.

Makes 4-6 painkillers (or 2 muggos)

Hell's Canyon of the Snake 2004

A ittle note for everyone:  Jessica has volunteered to take care of this entire trip.  I will be teaching dive academy every day right up until launch.  She may decide to cut short the number of people that are coming.  She will also need a bunch of help.  Do your best to make it easy on her.

Hey everybody!

This is your official invitation to participate in the 3nd Annual kick off to summer Hell's Canyon Extravaganza! We are going to be looking for 24 people to attend this magnificent trip down a great section of river.  The dates for this epic adventure will be May 20th, 21st and 22nd.  We will be packing and shopping the 18th and 19th, and will try for an early morning departure on May 20th. Along with this early morning, we will be trying for an as early as possible launch on the 20th (probably around 3:00).  We will raft all day on the 21st and spend the evening, if plans work out on the river.  Sunday we will get up and finish the float out, then de-rig, and drive home to Boise.

This trip we want to have a great time and have decided to spare no expense.  We want king crab legs, high quality beer and wine, and all the drippins and fixins with each meal.  We are also going to bring the river hot tub together for at least one of the nights.  So if you are into Tiki torches and far out on river partying, drop me a line, or better yet, drop me some cash.  The total for the trip (transportation, rafts, life jackets, all the drinks you can drink, food, guides, River fees, margaritas, other misc. tropical drinks, medical attention [a big one last year), shuttle fees, back rubs, eating utensils, water, butter, spill proof butter holder, and suntan lotion will be the small amount of $150.  I think this will cover it, but remember, it is a non-profit trip.  If we go over, everyone will kick a little in, if we go under, we it will be like a second tax refund.  Remember that every dime you give me will be spent on you.  I don't know why I even bother trying to sell this trip.  Just ask anyone who went last year if it was worth it and you will have the answer you need.

Also, if you want this trip to mean a whole bunch more to you than you ever thought possible, we got a deal for you. We really really need people to help out.  Currently we still have openings in the areas of shopping, menu, shuttles, beer, crab legs, loading, errand running, and every other part you can think of.  Jess will be doing $$$$$$ and gear, but we need more people to step up.  Even if you have never done a river trip before, don't be afraid to step up. I will give you all the information you need.  Come on and step right up. It is the only way to make a trip like this happen.

Secondly, remember, as most trips I do we will be trying for the elusive 50/50 girl guy ratio.  What does this mean you may ask?  Well, space is limited for guys, and there will probably be openings for many nice ladies.  We really need guides and people that have boats, so if you are a guy that has no boat, can't guide, can't help rig, can't help shop or get beer, there may not be a spot for you.  I am sure however, that if you are finding yourself on the receiving end of this letter, you are not one of them.

Also, special deal brought back from 1994 Westwater trip:  In order to ensure that we hit the coveted 50/50 ratio, if you bring 4 quality girls with you you go for half price.  It is that simple!  If they are whiners, sorry full price.  This is open to anyone.

I look forward to hearing back from all of you.  Payment can be sent to:
