These are photos from a Marsh Creek flyover
done on 4/19/2006. The pictures start at the put in just off of the
highway and the airplane is flying down the river left side of the canyon.
Actually the first 3 or 4 pictures were taken as we were doing a turn to head
down canyon so their orientation will look a bit off. The pictures are
basically in order but periodically I shot back upstream to catch a
problem spot from a different angle. From the pictures you will notice one
snow bridge across the canyon and I have also included several shots of "THE
LOG". These pictures show about 75% of the river. A couple of times
the river was underneath the plane and I did not get any photos. The
photos run all the way down to Sulpher Creek camp but most were from Hwy 21 -
Dagger. The photos at the end were taken of the Bear valley drainage above
fir creek campground. There is a lot of snow still to melt. Check
out the size of those cornices! Hope you enjoy them. If for any
reason you need a high resolution copy of any of the pictures, e-mail me at
raftin@aol.com and I can get one off to you.
Thanks to Larry Grimmett for the generous use of his piloting skills and his
182. Without him and his plane this would have been a 5 day project. |
